"Kopo" of mine...
Hair may be white
Skin may wrinkle
But, a very young heart
Playing cards to spend her golden times
And to indicate the limitation of a human

At her age of 86, my kopo played her cards with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter as usual activity. Calendar indicated that it was on monday. Suddenly, she complained pain in her stomach and the family quickly ran her into hospital. It was fine, doctor explained. The family was relieved to hear that but not until the next day, lung infection was diagnosed. The face turned yellow and the ears turned black. She was no longer looked like the cheerful old lady. Tubes, and devices wrapped her body. It turned into a very worrying day. Tears flow, heart was so painful to see grandma struggled to sustain proper amount of oxygen. Time was running so slow. But the heartbeat of grandma suddenly stopped. 3 times, and they snatched her from death.

But as the children, do you bear to see your beloved senior suffer in such state? So today, my cousin's family brought my kopo into their house. She did vomit blood several times. They gathered all of kopo's son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter. And the tube supporting the oxygen delivery to her lung was taken off.

I may not be very close to my kopo, but she was really a nice senior. She always smiled, showing the virtue of a grandma. Two days ago I paid a visit to see her. And it really hurts to see a person, especially an old woman, to be surrounded by tubes and machines. If I am sad, then you can imagine how sad her family, especially my cousin who has lived with her under one roof. So I understand why they would let her go if the heartbeat stops again.

Tell me, if you are one of the family member, do you want to shortcut her pain? I think that is why euthanasia is always practised.
