Oh Woman

Haha what a shame thing to acknowledge; I didn't blog daily again.

During these few days staying in Singapore for settling uni matters, I spent quite alot of time to watch, watch and watch.

1. The America's Next Top Model Cycle 13

This may be not the latest cycle but this is quite interesting cycle to me. Maybe for some creative breakthrough as well as humanity purpose, Tyra decided to make it special edition for petite girls. Only 5'7" and under is accepted. Can you imagine 5' 7" models? Okay, that's the selling point.

Some touching points here are the two top finalists.

Nicole Fox, the winner, was initially quite awkward in personality. I also don't really favor her look. However, I'm awed by her progress episode by episode. It's hard to find an introverted girl could make use of light effect and correct body pose to make stunning photos. Instead of ill-speaking each other like what other girls do, she focused on how to make improvement. She also remembers tips of those fashion trainers well. And you can see she's becoming more and more extroverted at the end.

Haha, I laugh hard to imagine the reactions of her ex-classmates for this.

Bong Chandra's quote of the day:
"I believe that smart people own the past, but people who are willing to learn own the future."

Cheers, Nicole!

I told ya TWO top finalists right? The another inspiring figure, Laura Kirkpatrick, is a cheerful girl from small town. She's pretty cool with that fact and often wear clothes made by her own grandma for the Judging Day. From start to the end of the cycle, I didn't see her badmouthing other girls.

It's good to see some pure heart like this. :)

I love this photo! It looks like ancient Greek kinda painting!

2. Marie Antoinette

I encountered this name when I was small. There's a japanese manga revolving around this queen too titled Rose of Versailles. She was Queen of France, the figure that triggered the French Revolution and hence the end of French monarchy. What I remember from the comic is her well-known beauty, her extravagant lifestyle, and her extramarital affair. :P Her lifestyle led her to beheaded at guillitone.

Today, I watched the Marie Antoinette movie starred by Kirsten Dunst. Here's the trailer.

Although she with her extravagant lifestyle cause French commoners to suffer, somehow I feel she's quite pitiful too. The royal marriage for Austrian-origined Marie Antoinette at young age was aimed to harmonise the two countries especially after Seven Years' War. They only managed to consummate and have first children seven years after the marriage. During that seven years, Marie was under pressure of her mother, Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, to have a prince as soon as possible to direct the fate between Austria-France. From what I researched, her hubby inherited the anti-Austrian view (since Austria was once the forever enemy of French) which treated Marie so coldddddddddd. I might say, her super duper shopping hobby, her gambling habit all rooted from her hubby, Louis XVI loh.

It's quite interesting to find the ancient French wedding tradition also to observe if the wedding couple have consummation on the wedding night. That's so chinese LOL.

It's getting late!
Good night, everyone!
Girl power ya!

It's Friday - Random Post

Okay, this must be the most produtive blogging day of mine.
Just to share some thoughts:

There are some to do list for this holiday. Please remind me to do so!
Learn cooking
Make bag from my umbrella
Picnic (prepare food by myself)

It's Friday - JB-lian

I divide the post just to write different events.

The JB trip last monday was meant to assist Devin's sister bringing back her stuff to Batam. She just finished her 1-year make-up course there, gaining a diploma (which is 3 years to me T.T). Haha the main purpose was dragged to the last program of the day when I decided to join Devin there. So we went to the City Square mall for what Devin claim as big shopping mall offering nice and cheap stuffs.

We departed at 8.30 (GMT +7), and Mr Devin was enjoying his cup noodle on the sea

We were having lunch at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. I just realised today that this restaurant also has a branch at Bugis Junction. Well nvm. The foods were reasonably cheap, huge in size and delicious. The service was pretty good which is surprisingly opposite in Singapore.

"What to eat? Seem like I can eat whole menu!"

"What to eat?" thought Devin's meimei.

JB Ah-Lian!

Kiwi-containing fruit juice

Juicy roasted pork

Ramen, ramen~

My sweet and sour fice rice

After lunch, we rushed to shop around from the fifth floor down. Well, what I should say is, this mall is really big. --" We spent about three hours plus but still remained at the top floor. There were a lot of 80's clothes, similar to that in SG with also similiar prices to SG (about RM 70). Too near Singapore, I guess, explains the high price.

With last ferry on 5.30 Malaysia Time, we could only wandered a while on other floors of the shopping mall before settling the real stuff.

So cute to find this telephone box out of nowhere.

We should go there for weekend, all friends in SG!

P.S. JB-lian was a nickname made by fun to a SP friend who comes from JB. Similar to Indonesian, Singaporean, etc., the suffix -lian was tagged to JB people. But perhaps, also JB ah lian? LOL!

It's Friday
